Luxury travel in Bolivia
The salt flats of Uyuni and the high life of the altiplano.

Bolivia at a glance
Bolivia is one of South America’s most dramatic and least crowded destinations. Much of it lies at high altitude, which shapes the planning, but the rewards are extraordinary: the white expanse of the Salar de Uyuni, the city of La Paz in its canyon, and the sacred islands of Lake Titicaca.
Why visit
- The Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat.
- Living indigenous culture in La Paz and around Lake Titicaca.
- Remote landscapes with very few other travellers.
Journeys including Bolivia
Private moments in Bolivia
- A private 4x4 expedition across the salt flats, ending at sunset
- A stay in a design-led camp or salt hotel on the edge of the Salar
- A boat visit to Isla del Sol with a local guide
- A food tour of La Paz’s contemporary Bolivian dining
When to go, month by month
May to October is the dry season, with clear skies and cold nights. From roughly January to March, rain can flood the Salar to create its famous mirror effect, although heavy rain can also limit access.

Good to know
- Much of Bolivia sits above 3,500 metres, so we plan routes to ascend gradually.
- Facilities in remote areas are simpler; we choose the most comfortable options available and are clear about standards.
- Check entry and vaccination requirements for your nationality before travelling.

When can I see the mirror effect?
Usually between January and March after rain, though it depends on conditions on the day.
Is Bolivia suitable for luxury travel?
